GAMES • PEANUTS • BEER
Open: 2–2 daily
Happy Hour: 2-6 daily
Wanna play a game? Then head to Hillside! That’s exactly what we did after leaving The Lookout with our friends. Hillside is our next-door neighbor that we love going to for Monopoly (which Mandy always wins), free pool on Sundays, and their wooden chess/checker tables (made by the bar owners).
Hillside is pretty big: A partial upper floor with Big Buck Hunter, two pinball machines and dartboards overlooks the lower level that includes the bar area, a pool table room, and tiki lounge.
Our friends Chris and Scott joined us here for beer, free peanuts, and our own “house rules” version of Trivial Pursuit. The music at Hillside tends to be all over the place, depending on the crowd, thanks to the jukebox (and Mandy’s odd pairing of Britney Spears and Journey). And since day drinking usually turns into all day drinking, Hillside was the perfect hole-in-the-wall to end our barhop for the day.
As mentioned above, free pool all day Sunday. Trivia goes down the first Wednesday, and bingo the last Sunday of each month.
18 rotating beers on tap is nothing to sneeze at.
The restrooms are pretty hole-in-the-wallsy (read: gross). The ladies’ room has curtains as stall doors.
Anytime we get the desire to play Monopoly and eat peanuts (which is fairly often), we’ll be here.
